Deb, go back over the last 4 trips you've taken. Figure out which of each of those choices is the one where it's been longest since you ate there, and choose that one. _________________

Sorry Deb, your kinda' out of my price range.
The only two at which I've eaten that you've mentioned are Le Cellier and Liberty Tree Tavern. I loved both of them!
The rest probably will only happen if Rhonda and I make another couple's trip. It'd cost a small fortune to my family of six to these places.
Anywayz, here goes:
Quote: | California Grill or Jiko or Citricos |
Tough call, I've heard so much about all three--I'd probably try California Grill with or without kids because both Rhonda and the kids would prefer the menu over the others-and I'd guess it to be the most "romantic" of the three if it were just the two of us.
Quote: | Le Cellier is a definate
Narcoossees or Kona Cafe or Flying Fish |
I know I ate something I really liked on the Disney Cruise that was supposed to be from the Flying Fish menu. I might go there just to try that again--however the Kona Cafe probably tops this list for me. I've heard they have the best coffee on property and it seems more casual than the other two which more fits my style.
Quote: | Chefs de France or Yachtsman or Artist's Point |
No question here for me--I've never been disappointed with ANY meal at Wilderness Lodge an I love to walk around both there and at the Polynesian and pretend that I can afford a deluxe...
Quote: | Liberty Tree or Concourse Steakhouse |
I really loved Liberty Tree Tavern last time (my new favorite character meal), but I'd always choose a new experience over one that I've had previously--so it's off to the Concourse for me!

We are lucky to be enjoying the dining plan this trip!
I'm looking forward to trying a couple new restaurants and enjoying old favorites.
Thanks for all your suggestions!

How the heck did I miss this thread? I LOVE to talk about eating at WDW!!
California Grill or Jiko or Citricos - You can't go wrong with any. Personally I'd pick CG but I know you really like Citricos.
Le Cellier is a definate
Narcoossees or Kona Cafe or Flying Fish - Flying Fish for sure
Chefs de France or Yachtsman or Artist's Point - I've only been to AP, but we thought it was a beautiful restaurant with lovely food.
Liberty Tree or Concourse Steakhouse - Never been to either....both are pretty meaty!

It looks to me that you have left enough options for 5 nights of dining. If you are using the Disney Dining meal plan, many of the places you have picked use up 2 of your sitdown options per meal, which leaves you without enough for your full 4 1/2 days.
Jiko, Flying Fish, California Grill, Citricos, Narcoossee's, Artist Point, and Yachtmans all use 2 sitdown options. |

Hi Sheryl
Nice to see you here!
Actually I knew that, but our first night we arrive late in the evening so will not utilize any of the dining options so I actually have 5 full days of dining on the package as we are staying 5 nights.
I also don't mind paying for a meal, we aren't going to stop eating at our favorites just because we are out of options on the package. We always do at least one sitdown a day. Most look at the dining package and say, wow, I can go to a great full service.. I say.. what am I gonna do with all these counterservices!
It was a bit weird, having to sort all the choices, we've never done a package before, but this was the best value for us this trip. And you know as I do... never question the Pixie when she tells you what is best for you! lol!
I think if on the last days we have counterservice left.. I'll just walk up to a stranger who is in line at counterservice and offer to give the option away.. I think that would be magical!

I thought I should clarify the 4 1/2 days of dining
We arrive late one night, acutally should get there just before midnight.
I know it's probably dumb to pay for a whole days stay for just sleeping, but if we travel the next morning, our room probably won't be ready until late afternoon.
I prefer to check in and get settled and have a fresh start in the morning, no way do I want to travel to the airport, fly to orlando, deal with luggage and transportation and then have to wait countless hours to get in the room.
day one - arrive just before midnight
days two three four five - enjoy Disney
day six - leave for airport around noon
so we'll have 5 days of dining
that is 10 full service. 10 counter service and 10 snacks for really only 4 1/2 days of fun.
I know I'll use the snack option, I cut out coke and now am up to 60 - 80 oz of water daily, and I do like Dasani!
I know we'll use the full service, have them booked and look to be paying for one meal now.
Counter service .. hmmm.. I think we'll end up with some left over.
that gives me an idea for a new post.. favorite counter service _________________ I believe in…

California Grill or Jiko or Citricos ---Love them all. Would vote for Cali Grill though
Le Cellier is a definate ---Lucky you, I couldn't get in
Narcoossees or Kona Cafe or Flying Fish ---I would go to Kona but it is just because I haven't tried it for dinner yet,
Chefs de France or Yachtsman or Artist's Point --Yachtsmen but again it is because I want to try it
Liberty Tree or Concourse Steakhouse--haven't been to either and want to try both _________________ Sue......next trip December 2007 |

Deb, re counter service...
I assume it's you and LB, you could easily use one counter service to share for breakfast-send LB down to get one Big Kahuna breakfast platter from Captain Cooks-remember you will also be able to get a juice (16oz) and a "dessert" so grab a fruit cup or at least a banana. Then split a counter service lunch/dinner somewhere-which also comes with drink/dessert.
We had left over table service options and they let us use them at the AS foodcourt for counter so we grabbed sandwiches/grapes/drinks for the plane ride home. Zip lock bags are my friend!
Now if you are staying concierge...nevermind!!!!you'll be walking down the hall for breakfast! |
